Loading History...

A large and heavy Victorian leatherbound Bible, positively identified as belonging to Walter (b. 1864) and Ethel Housden (b. 1873) of Saffron Walden in Essex, England, and listing the births of their twelve children across three pages in a neat hand.

The children listed (with birth years) are: George (1893), Naomi (1894), Cecil (1896), Winnie (1897), Crawford (1898), Joyce (1900), Rose (1901), Duke (1902), Walter (1903), (Irene (1904), Maysie (1906), Sadie (1907)

The binding is tight, but the Bible is missing all but one of it's brass clap fixings, and the front board is detached. The pages show some slight staining, but are generally clean. This would benefit from some restoration or repair which we are, as always, able to provide competitive quotes for.
