A hard bound book containing 52 pages of "The Soham Magazine" from January to December 1889 bound together with all 1889 issues of "The Dawn of The Day", a Victorian magazine of light reading, recipes, poetry etc.

The Soham magazine contains a plethora of content relating to the town of Soham in Cambridgeshire in the year 1899 including Births, Marriages and Deaths, Hymns sung in then churches, local publicans, attendance at schools and classes and historical information. It also includes news and articles about the nearby hamlet of Barway. The magazines includes some longer articles about notable residents of Soham John Helder (b 1697) and Herbert Hedge.

We are unable to find another copy of this in existence and there is no copy listed in the British Library catalogue. A fascinating and extremely rare collection.

The particular copy was in the ownership of Elizabeth Gillson of Water Side, Soham
