A carte de visite type photo of Susan Elizabeth Scorer dated 1888 by photographer George Hadley, 36 Castle Hill, Lincoln. This photo was amongst ephemera that came from the estate of a gentleman whose mother was called Winifred Scorer and who married an army officer who lived near Horncastle. This is almost certainly Winifred's aunt. A carte de visite is a photograph mounted on a piece of card the size of a formal visiting card—hence the name. The format was patented by the French photographer Andre Adolphe Eugene Disdéri (1819–1889) in 1854. All my items come from a smoke-free environment. Quoted postage rate includes for cost of packaging. NB! I always combine postage for multiple buys.
