This is a fantastic Victorian photo album from the Robertson Honey family of LOCATION and the United States, and appears to have been the personal property of the Reverend Charles Robertson Honey, and appears to have been gifted by Samuel Robertson Honey, a respected British Lawyer, latterly American politician and author.
The album opens with a CDV portrait of Charles Robertson, the grandfather of Rev Charles Robertson Honey, taken from Daguerreotype. This follows with a CDV portrait of "Mrs Robertson", the wife of Charles Robertson, "a photograph of a minature [...] taken by Sir John Lawrence".
These are followed by portraits of Rev Charles Robertson Honey, William Robertson Honey, Frederick Honey, Andrew Roberton Honey, Samuel Robertson Honey, Sarah Honey, Alice Robertson Honey, Emma Constance Honey, Nora Robertson Honey, Annie Algeina Honey, Mary Honey and Kate Robertson Honey.
Of the 24 photographs, 19 are identified in ink by the hand of Rev Charles Robertson Honey, and include notes relating to photograph date and location as well as who ordered the photographs.
The notes also make reference to "William Honey" of the London Stock Exchange and his wife "Mrs Honey" who we have identified as William Honey and Sarah Waynman Robertson
The Photo album itself is a small teal velvet Victorian album of 12 double sided leaves, with a brass clasp, measuring approximately 13cm x 10cm x 4cm. Much of the velvet is worn as is typical of an item of this age, but the vivid teal colour is still apparent, particularly on the back of the album.
The album further includes a five page hand written transcription in a later hand of the notes found on the photographs.

I live in the home built by Samuel Robertson Honey in Newport, RI. I do recognize some of the handwriting as that of Col. Honey – from a scrapbook of personal photos and anecdotes, which is now at the Newport Historical Society. I have researched Col. Honey extensively. So, if any of his descendants find this entry, feel free to contact me for additional history on Col. Honey and his family.
This is an amazing resource. I live in Samuel Honey’s house in Newport, RI and I have done extensive research on his life and his political career. Thanks for sharing this.
